       Excellent talk by David Sirota.
    •  David Sirota was an excellent speaker!
    •  Sirota is an interesting and dynamic speaker--almost TOO polished, with a slick audiovisual presentation and the ability to deliver an impassioned peroration on cue. If I had won one of the 5 copies of his book that were raffled off, I would probably be reading it now. I may read it, even so.
    •  This was a great idea...to have an author talk to us. I found this to be one of the best uses of time yet...very stimulating. Thanks for organizing this.

Great presentation by David Sirota!!! Will certainly get his book The Uprising. Though on his mailing list for a few years, my respect for him greatly zoomed last night. Now there's a Patriot!!! Plus, on the inspirational side, finding out that there are DFA members who are really doing something (resolution re D. Feinstein) and not the usual "but what can I do?" that so many of us feel (and validly so).
    •  Terrific speaker - energetic and inspiring. Issues pertinent to civic engagement - which is the core of DFA.
    •  It was a thought-provoking presentation, especailly the part about working at the state and local levels (tyranny of the minority at the national level). I wish we had time to talk about working for Obama since he was made the nominee within the past month.
    •  Great speaker with good insights and presentation. Good choice for a meet-up. Maybe needed more time for discussion, but Sirota's schedule was short. I liked the schedule: start early, finish early.

It was very good meeting. I think Sirota had a lot of useful things to say, though I found his uprising thesis a little questionable I think his idea of focusing on issues not parties is sound. He also made a very good if implicit case for reforming the structure of the Democratic Party. My complements to who ever had the idea of inviting him.
    •  Mr. Sirota spent little time on global warming. Perhaps there is no data available that would show how the campaign to slow CO2 production is part of the Progressive upsurge. We must keep stating over and over again the fact that a really effective campaign to reduce global warming would INCREASE JOBS. Other than that the presentation was fantastic.
