THE DAY AFTER: Oakland DFA Meetup -- February 6

On the day after Tsunami Tuesday, there's only one place you'll want to be if you want to talk about what the presidential primary results will mean to our progressive movement to change America and the world:

There will be a lot more at this Meetup than just talk (stay tuned for more details). Like our "Day After" Meetups in 2004 and 2006, it will be a night that brings together progressives from across the East Bay to celebrate (or perhaps just ruminate) what happened and what should happen next.

If you're looking for an opportunity to connect and communicate with your friends in the DFA community (and folks from other communities, like the WDRC and PDA), you don't want to miss this meetup.

Meanwhile, it was only two months ago that we gathered at the Rockridge Library, writing hand-written letters to Iowans, asking them to "Unite for a Progressive President" -- DFA's national meetup action. It was a wonderful event, with over 80 meetuppers discussing their presidential preferences openly and respectfully. Many people told me after the event that it helped them think more deeply about who they would support and why.

The national DFA organization (based in Burlington, VT; Howard Dean's hometown) was so thrilled with the event video produced by Edwin Rutsch, an Oakland DFA Meetup Team member, they sent it out to 650,000 people across America.
