Alternate format? Friday mtg?

Hi everyone -

As you may have noticed, we have not been meeting regularly since last summer. One of the problems is that when we gave up our spot at Title Wave (because we were becoming too large for the venue and they asked us to keep the numbers down), we moved from location to location and have never settled on a location that was both free/inexpensive and would give us room to grow.

I would like to propose an alternative/addition to the regular meeting - an informal get together on some Friday evening (2nd, 3rd, or 4th Friday) with an early time (6-7:00 pm) downtown at the Kaladi Bros meeting room (6th ave & G).

My thinking is that this meeting would have no agenda, and would just be an informal coffee meeting where people could network and talk to each other about what they are doing in other groups, or would like to do. I am thinking Friday because there is very little competition with other groups with Friday meetings, 6-7 pm because it is early enough not to interfere with other activities - movies, etc., and downtown because it would be fun to occassionally follow-up with a beer if people want to continue their conversation.

This is not intended to supplant a regular meeting, but to keep in touch with an informal, no sweat get together when the regular meetings run into scheduling/location problems.

Please feel free to post any responses. If I get 3-4 positive responses, I will reserve an upcoming Friday and we can see how it evolves from there.
