GUEST SPEAKER-- Joe Saunders, Statewide Field Director for Equality Florida and Fairness for all Families on Constitutional Amendment No. 2 on Domestic Partnerships/Marriage. Joe will provide us with action items and all-important talking points so we can answer the questions of our friends, family and co-workers. This amendment is far-reaching in its effects. Learn how this will hurt seniors, among others. We will be voting on whether to endorse the Fairness for All Families Campaign.
Update on New Candidates of Interest to Progressives
Get the latest on the Never-ending Saga of Florida's DNC Delegate Situation, including the scoop on who really is responsible for this mess. Hint: It's not likely to be who the Sentinel or pundits on TV, or even some of our elected officials suggest.
Continuing our Discussion on what it means to be "Progressive"
We will recap what we discussed at our January meeting, prioritize our issues and identify our preferred policy positions. In particular, we are preparing for interviews and forums for the candidates for the congressional races in Central Florida, CD8 (Keller's seat) and CD 24 (Feeney's seat) in particular. The goal is to develop a list of questions to which we would like answers.
Please join us. We need and value your input. It's time to re-engage and build to victory in 2008.
Directions: The Orlando Public Library is located in the heart of downtown on Central Boulevard.
Ample parking is available in the garage directly across Central. We will be meeting in the Cypress Room on the third floor.
