Our regular monthly Meetup on the first Thursday of the month. Albuquerque mayoral candidate DEBBIE O'MALLEY, an Albuquerque City Councilor, will be presenting her vision for the city and taking questions. Bernalillo County Clerk MAGGIE TOULOUSE will be reaching out to us for feedback on the '08 election and discussing several pending election reform bills in the NM Legislature. A staffer from Lt. Gov. Diane Denish's campaign will also be visiting us. A couple more mayoral candidates may stop in and Dem Party Chair Brian Colon says he'll be visiting us. Full plate!

    •  I enjoyed "calling the powers to be on their voting wrong". Why should we vote & support our Dem officials if they don't support us & vote with us?
    •  Great Speakers. Mayorial Candidate excellent, chairman of the DPNM excellent, and Bern. County clerk excellent. great Q and A.
    •  There was a strong line-up of speakers--the head of the state Dem Party, a mayoral candidate, a little City Council talk, good discussions about current bills in the Legislature, and voting issues presented by the Bernalillo County Clerk. I don't know how the evening could have been much better. The only suggestion I have regards announcements made by people in the group. Due to the length of the program, many people leave before some important information is shared. This may have been tried, but could there be a 10-15 minute period at the beginning of the meeting for all announcements to be made, handouts passed, with 2-3 minute time limits given to people who request time for a very brief statement?
