Hello Dean/DFNYC/DFA people in Queens,

Christine Quinn, Speaker of the City Council, will be speaking to us tomorrow. We hope you can join us, as the Speaker influences many issues that affect Queens and all of New York City, such as rent laws, zoning, and just about any legislation and reform in the city council.

When:
Tomorrow, (Tues. May 19) 5:45-6:30pm. Feel free to stay later for another event at The Tank, see below. Speaker Quinn will be there from 6:00pm to 6:30pm, so please arrive early if possible so we can start on time.

Where:
The Tank NYC, 354 West 45th St., between 8th & Ninth Avenues, in Manhattan. Take any subway to Times Square and walk west. For address-to-address directions, go to: http://hopstop.com.

RSVP:
This is not necessary, but very helpful so that we know attendance. You can rsvp at this page at our website: http://dfnyc.org/content/view/2411/1

Later Event at the Tank:
At 7:30, The Tank has another event with political cartoonist Lloyd Dangle. For more info, visit the links at: http://dfnyc.org/content/view/2411/1

Note:

Democracy for NYC has invited all the candidates in the Democratic primary for Council District 3 (West Village, Chelsea, Hell's Kitchen) to speak to our members at Linkup. Candidates Yetta Kurland and Maria Passanante Derr joined us in March and April respectively.

The incumbent, Speaker Christine Quinn, was not able to speak at one of our regular first-Wednesday Linkups due to scheduling issues, so she agreed to join us at this Linkup-style event this Tuesday.

Thank you,
Tracey & Heather
