(1) Tonight (Mon) in Queens: Letter Writing for Obama

What: Linkup Tonight in Astoria! Join us to Write Letters for Obama

When: Mon. Oct. 6, 7:30pm

Where: Mezzo Mezzo, 31-29 Ditmars Blvd.

Who: Hosted by DFA/DFNYC/Dean people Costa Constantinides and Jeremiah Frei-Pearson.

Subway: N or W train to Ditmars Blvd/Astoria

Agenda: Letter Writing!

Several key swing states will determine who wins this election. Democracy for America (the organization started by Gov. Howard Dean after his presidential campaign) has members all across the country. We have lsts from DFA of their members in swing states, so we will be writing handwritten letters to these DFAers encouraging them to volunteer for Obama's "Neighbor to Neighbor" program, http://barackobama.com/n2n.

We will have letter writing materials for you and a sample letter. This is the last Linkup before the Nov. election, so we talk about GOTV activities for Obama, and also post-November issues such as the 2009 elections here in New York City and term limits.

(2) Tomorrow (Tues) in Queens & other NYC Venues: Debate Watch Parties

Join DFNYC, Queens County Young Democrats, Democrats for New Politics, CUNY Law School Democrats and Astoria for Obama to see Barack Obama and John McCain in their second debate.

Tuesday, October 7, 7:30-11 pm
Blackstone's, 38-04 Broadway
Astoria, NY 11105
Cash Bar

Subway: N/W to Astoria/Ditmars Blvd

There are Debate Watch Parties all over New York City!

Here's the best way to navigate the Obama website to find a party near you:
- Go to http://www.barackobama.com.
- Scroll down and click on find events on the right.
- Click on Advanced Search.
- Enter your zip code, and change the distance to 5 miles, or even just 1 mile. For "Type of Event," you can enter Debate Watch Party, or just leave it blank.

(3) Friday in Manhattan: Letter writing in Manhattan at Whole Foods on Houston (upstairs)

We will also be having a letter writing gathering at Whole Foods in Manhattan, at the tables in the upstairs area. Details coming soon at our website, www.dfnyc.org. Or email host Carlos: [address removed]
