Dear Queens DFA Meetup group,
Howard Dean always told us that politics is too important to be left to politicians, encouraging grassroots citizens to run for office. We are proud to announce that two of our Dean/DFA/DFNYC people, Steve Behar
(from Queens!) and Josh Skaller are running for city council! Please join us this Wednesday for a meet and greet with these terrific grassroots candidates:
When: Wednesday, April 9th, 7-9pm
Where: Butterfield 8, 5 East 38th Street, between 5th & Madison. The event is being held in Manhattan to be convenient for a large number of DFAers.
Why: Because no matter where you live, all city councilmembers vote on important legislation that affects you.
Josh Skaller: Park Slope area of Brooklyn, district 39,

Governor Dean encouraged people to stay involved in politics at all levels of government, make our voices heard on the issues that matter, help elect good candidates, and eventually run for office. So now two of our DFNYC Linkup hosts, Steven Behar of Bayside, Queens and Josh Skaller of Park Slope, Brooklyn, are doing just that. Their respective city council districts will be open seats in the 2009 elections in New York City.
Wondering if you've met Steve and Josh? You probably have! Check out these pictures at:

At Linkups last week, we discusses questions to ask. But don't worry if you missed Linkup - there will still be a chance for audience members to ask questions at the meet and greet.
Join us Wednesday! Please rsvp here:
