This fall is the election we've all been waiting for. Not only is it finally time to take our country back, but we'll also be facing critical state and city elections. Join us in June for (tentatively):

* Presidential campaign veteran and DNC member Donnie Fowler returns to SF for Democracy to update us on the current state of the presidential race and to take a look at key swing states and other important races in November.

* Stuart Gaffney and John Lewis, two of the main plaintiffs in the recent landmark case giving same-gender couples the right to marry in California, return to SF4D to share their triumph and to discuss what we can do to fight the November ballot initiative that would take away those rights.

* With seven supervisors' seats (four open) and four school board posts at stake, the fall election has the potential to change the face of San Francisco politics. What do *you* want the future of SF to be? Make your voice heard by helping SF for Democracy write its fall candidate questionnaire.

Plus a report from our own Greg Keaton on the 2008 Annual General Meeting of Amnesty International, and an update from our own Jim Cowan on a key June 19 universal healthcare rally -- June 4 promises to be one of our most action-packed Meetups ever!

    •  interesting program, to say the least. Good spirit in the room, even if one didn't vote for Obama or Leno. It was a good first meeting for a new member. I'll be back.
    •  One of the best meetups I've been to! In particular, I was very skeptical about Donnie Fowler, based on his appearance in December, but in the end he convinced me that he knows something useful about politics. Gaffney and Lewis were great! Both dedicated and articulate.
